    Hello,

    it looks like your cron isn’t working properly, please read here: https://www.thenewsletterplugin.com/documentation/troubleshooting/newsletter-delivery-engine/

    Also, mail logs can contain precious informations on these kind of issues: Newsletter has a basic loggin system and so do your sending provider (your host or a dedicated service). You can also try installing a dedicated mail logging plugin such as Wp Mail Logging.

    Hello Adrian,

    unfortunately CSS in email design doesn’t work like in regular web pages. There have been many progresses in the last few years but we’re still facing incompatibilities with many email clients so we cannot introduce any of the newer techniques for all our users.

    If you’re using our visual composer, it should be fairly easy to obtain a 2 colums layout, but if you’re coding your own html section it would be better to think of a hybrid design. That would be:

    1. You create your template with the dynamic blocks from our composer, e.g. posts,
    2. You save it and switch to html editor (warning: you will not be able to switch back)
    3. You create your desired 2 columns section with html, you can start with this article which explains the ropes of responsive email design https://www.litmus.com/blog/understanding-responsive-and-hybrid-email-design
    4. Save it again and test.

    Unfortunately we cannot give much support on custom designs, other people may be helpful here in the forums.

    Hello Adrian,

    if the frame exceeded the email container, you’ve probably misconfigured some widths. Here’s a basic template you can start with:

    Hello,

    that tag is already there. I confirm it’s happening on iOS as well, but only from your site, in our test environments it’s not happening at all. Please try to add the following css to Settings > Advanced:

    /* Fix for zoomed-in Newsletter View on Mobile */
    @media only screen and (max-width: 768px) {
    /* Force the main container and tables to be fluid */
    body, table, .newsletter-email {
    width: 100% !important;
    max-width: 100% !important;
    min-width: 0 !important;
    }

    /* Ensure images shrink to fit */
    img {
    height: auto !important;
    max-width: 100% !important;
    }
    }

    Tell me if that works.

    email design, expecially when it comes to structure, doesn’t rely much on css. If you’re using the html block, multiple columns structure can be obtained using nested tables. No css is needed.

    Even better than html forms (which anyway should give you complete control) you can use forms like [newsletter_form list="x"], where “x” is the public list number you want to be assigned to that forms’ subscribers.

    Hello,

    your main form will add subscribers to list “A” > go to Subscription > Lists and create list “A” and set it as Enforced and private, so every new subscriber will be added to that list automatically.

    your other forms, which you should create by going to Forms > Html forms (read documentation), will work the same way, but with different lists (which you should create beforehand and you may set them as public or private).

    Hello,

    the best way to differentiate between subscribers is by using lists and custom forms. You create a new custom form where every new subscription gets assigned to a list, then you use that list to target those subscribers with your campaigns. Hello Kaz,

    you can use our Wp Users addon to do that. You should create a dedicated list (let’s say, “Registered Users”), that go to the Wp User addon and set the same list as pre-assigned. Then run the sync tool. All your registered users will be added to a specific list (beware, if there are registered users which are not subscribers, thos will be added as subscribers as well). Then, run a campaign excluding that list using the targeting options.

    an increase of fake subscriptions may depend on a lot of factors but still, it needs to be taken care of. About comments: the golden rule is, if you don’t use them, deactivate them. There’s simple snippets that do that. If you use comments, be sure to put in place some antispam tools such as Captcha or anything else.

    Hello Eric,

    aside from each one’s experiences with SES, which is a really solid sending service (an industry standard, I’d dare to say), I’d like to point out that any sending provider *works* with our plugin. We have some integrations with the most famous ones, which means we provide a dedicated addon that connects to the service via APIs, but apart from that there’s always the Smtp connection.

    About SES: as soon as you exit the sandbox the limits should stick around something like 50k emails every 24 hours, which should be more than enough in your use case.

    Hello Kaz,

    if you’re offering a newsletter subscription during website registration and the users don’t allow for it, it means they opted out and therefore I wouldn’t email them at all. I’d rather place strategically subscription forms on the pages they’ll be visiting.

    Hello Miguel,

    I can confirm that there’s absolutely no reason to do that in order to improve deliverability, as you found yourself. Sometimes it can even decrease it. I’d rather focus on technical aspects like DKIM, SPF and DMARC and a good layout – content of the email itself. Those are key to reach a good deliverability. And of course: test, test and test again : )

    Let me know if you need anything else, we’re here to help.

    in reply to: Translation ob Backend to German #349126

    Hello Torsten,

    we’re here to help. For most languages, Newsletter is translated with percentages over 95%. That means almost every string in the plugin is correctly translated in that language. However, there will always be a small amount of words (recently added, for example) that will still need translation and approval by the community. We have no control over that: since we’re italians we can only approve italian translations (that’s how the WordPress translation project works).

    This regards only the core plugin, which is publicly available. If you installed some of the free addons (which you download from our website), those are not translated automatically but they can be translated via third party plugins such as LocoTranslate (which we greatly recommend). Can you tell me exactly where are you seeing those mixed languages panels or options?

    If some of the subscribers in the imported csv are already present in your subscribers list (in your case I suppose they will all be present), our import addon will ask you what to do (just follow the steps). Of course the csv you will export from your ecommerce plugin must contain only the customers who subscribed to your newsletter.

    Hello Craig,

    I fear there’s no way to do this automatically. You’d need to download a csv from your ecommerce plugin with all those guests customers (along with their email address), format that csv with a list number (you basically need to maintain only the basic info, like name, address, and list number – remember that it must be previously created), and then upload it using our import feature. It will update the existing matching subscribers by assigning them to the specified list number. Maybe perform some tests with a couple of subscribers to check that everything is properly working.

    Hello Oliver,

    about anchors: please re-read my last message, that’s the updated compatibility chart of local anchors in email design. As you can see, one out of two email clients won’t render that correctly.

    I don’t think there would be any workarounds for this, or alternatives. My personal opinion, if I can, is that indexes in a newsletter simply don’t make much sense. A newsletter itself can be see as an “index”, where you introduce a summary of your topics and send people to the full post through links. There are also some longer newsletters which have their public, but generally speaking, only a few people are interested enough to read long paragraphs on emails.

    Hopes this makes sense to you,

    Hello Omar,

    I succeeded in replicating the issue. I confirm this. Unfortunately, this is not caused by our plugin itself, it is probably another plugin / theme conflicting. There is no easy way to troubleshoot this, but I suggest you to do the following: briefly deactivate plugins one by one (not our addons) and check if the closing “x” disappear by doing a page refresh after each deactivation. Also remember to flush cache if you have that in place.

    Hello,

    yes we are aware of this behaviour. Unfortunately if you want to redirect your subscribers to different contents based on which locked content form they filled, this is currently possible using categories: e.g. you can unlock all posts with the “premium” category. We will work on improving this.

    Hello,

    considering that various css rules may be applied to various elements at once, causing display issues (expecially in plugins-rich websites or generally, in WordPress), it might be better if you let me have a live url of your form, so I can take a closer look.

    Hello Harry,

    yes, you’re right, what you see on the editor is clearly a bug, and we’ll fix it. Line height on larger fonts is by default pretty wide, I think the only option is to add a setting for that. I’ve passed this to our developers as well.

    Hello,

    you can do that quite simply with Newsletter. You need to create custom forms and use the generated html in the other (“child”) websites. Please read more here: https://www.thenewsletterplugin.com/documentation/subscription/newsletter-forms/ (some content might be a little outdated, we’re in the process of re-writing them).

    I’m not seeing any errors when setting fonts in different sizes. Line height is always using a default value if it’s not specified elsewhere.

    Hello,

    no, there’s no way of selecting a specific date in Automated. Most of our users prefer to select a particular day of the week for marketing purposes (for example, they know that they post a new article every monday, etc.). However, you can schedule a normal newsletter to go out on a specific date, and you can repeat this how many times you need.

    Hello,

    yes of course, our Professional Plan allows you to install Newsletter and all the premium addons on 3 different websites. Check all our licenses here: https://www.thenewsletterplugin.com/premium

    And let me know if you any other pre-sale questions.

    Hello,

    yes, those are connected to the standard form only. Anyway, if you created custom forms you can use the generated html pretty much everywhere, i’d recommend trying some popup/injection third party plugin, which will do the trick.

    Hello,

    1. To do that, you will need our Automated addon, which is included in our premium licenses. Take a look here: https://www.thenewsletterplugin.com/premium

    2. You can try, but due to email design limitations, I doubt that will work.

    If you have a valid license with us, please open a ticket from you account area so that our premium support can help you, thanks.

    Hello,

    we do not offer the option to edit composer blocks as html (you can edit the newsletter as a whole in html, but once you’ve switched to html you can’t go back to the visual composer). We do have an html block where you can insert anything you’d like to, but of course that needs to be coded from scratch. I’ve passed this to our developers for further evaluation though.

    Hello,

    you can’t do that without some degree of custom code, so you would need a developers to do that for you. We also have a premium Ultimate Member addon wich you can try, but I can’t guarantee that will work (it’s a pretty particular situation). However, we have a 30 days refund policy so you can try risks-free.

    Hello Harry,

    thanks for the kind words.

    1. I need to check this with the devs, you’re referring to the info in Settings > Company, right?
    2. I confirm it can’t be entered as html. No workaround at this time, but I’ve informed our developers and we might change this in the future for better customization options.
    3/4. Let me speak with the devs about this, probably we need to fix that.

    Anyway, about the company info: you can also create a “company info” block with the composer itself, and make it reusable (template) so you can have html editing capabilities.

    Hello,

    1. what do you mean by “remove link” ?

    2. No, you can’t do that from the newsletter itself, but after send is complete you can see who clicked on the various links on your newsletter, and add them to a list. You can also invite your subscribers to update their profile with a direct link to it.
