Things were working fine for a long time.
But I’ve installed the Translate Press Bridge Plugin and that has really messed up my registration flow. The worst part: If I deactivate (or event delete the plugin) it doesn’t go back to normal.

    My page: neonhopegame.com

    My default language is English.
I use Translate Press to localize it to German.

Until yesterday I just had ENG language onboarding for the newsletter. But I wanted to change this, so I activated the plugin.

    The issue:
Whenever someone subscribes it automatically sends them into the flow for German. Even if you are in the default Language English. Meaning after subscription it redirects you to the German version of the Newsletter page. And the welcome email that I receive is also in German.

I wanted to revert this. To at least have everything in my default language again. But it is impossible for me. Even after deactivating the plugin or deleting the plugin the German version of the confirmation email still gets send.

    Can you please assist?
    Thank you!

I’ve realized that the same is also true about Welcome emails. Meaning now that I have deactivated the plugin Welcome emails are broken, too. Instead of sending my custom welcome email the tool now always sends the default message.

    Hi,

did you deactivate both out Translatepress bridge addon and TranslatePress main plugin?

No, I only deactivated the TranslatePress bridge addon.

But I’ve tested this now: As soon as I deactivate TranslatePress main it reverts back to the normal page (and sends the normal English confirmation email). But when I turn it back on, it again defaults to German.

Ok, so: the TranslatePress bridge addon should be active if TranslatePress and Newsletter are active at the same time. You created a translated subscription flow for german language that still exists: if you want all subscriptions to be in english, you should delete the german welcome email and thankyou/profile page, so it will fall back to the default one (english in this case).

You can switch languages from the top bar and edit Newsletter settings for that language.

Sorry for not explaining this well enough.
I want to have a seperate flow for English and German.
But it does not work. Therefore I deactivate the plugin (and the behavior didn’t return to normal).

I’ve now reactivated the plugin, so you can see the result.
And it still defaults to German for both what is displayed after registration and the confirmation email.
