    Hi,

I enabled Captcha in the Antispam settings for the plugin and tried a test subscription with an email address. I have double opt-in enabled, and when I submit the subscription form, there is no Captcha, just the redirect to confirmation link page. Any help appreciated!

    Hey,

sorry for this delay. I’ve tried to sign up and I could correctly see the captcha page. Can you confirm the issue is gone?

Yes, I realized it wasn’t working when testing while logged into admin in WordPress. It works when I’m logged out.

A follow-up question I have though is whether it’s possible to integrate 3rd party Captcha systems like hCaptcha or reCaptcha?

Also, in your opinion, for security measures, is a Captcha page for Newsletter an adequate substitute for double opt-in? I’ve noticed many subscribers miss the confirmation email with double opt-in, although it has prevented bots. I’m just wondering if choosing a single opt-in + Captcha combo would be a better strategy for keeping away spam and also ensuring subscribers get the welcome email.

    Thanks!

    Hello,

no, single opt-in is nowhere as secure as double opt-in, even with a captcha system in place. Beside this, double opt-in is required by many privacy regulations around the world and it’s de facto the standard way nowadays to obtain a verifiable, secure subscription.

Ok, good to know about double opt-in. Do you know if there’s any way to integrate 3rd party Captcha systems? Would I be able to do that using Snippets?

    Hi,

that is a recurring request by many of our users. We are considering adding this in the future but no ETA at the moment : )
