Hi… I’m having real issues with my website constantly hitting it’s daily resource usage limit. After much digging and questions to my web-host, all things are pointing to the Newsletter plugin on my website. It looks like the plugin is getting bombarded by spam bots, causing my website to exceed it’s usage limit.

Any fix for this? All advice I’ve had simply says to remove Newsletter from my site, which would be hugely frustrating. I’ve used this for years, built up a nice list of subscribers, and actually rather like the app/plugin. So diching it would be a real pain, but I have to solve this issue somehow.

    Hi Steph,

this a rather common issue, but it’s not caused by Newsletter itself: as you said, the problem here are the spam bots hitting your website and draining resources. This would happen with any public subscription form, unless you put in place some kind of mitigation. We have a doc page on these matters: https://www.thenewsletterplugin.com/documentation/subscription/antiflood/, I’d start from there, but keep in mind that there are more “drastic” measures to prevent this from happening, but you’d need access to your own server.
