Hi! I have a question for anyone who’s done this before, or for the plugin developer. I’d like to clean my list of inactive subscribers. Before I do that, I’d like to know one thing.

How are ‘inactive’ subscribers defined? Are they people who don’t click on links? Or perhaps people who don’t open the email at all? I know that not all subscribers click on links, but if they open the emails and read the content, I don’t want to remove them. The FAQ doesn’t fully clarify this for me. I found the following information in one place:

‘We define activity broadly: it can be a link click, a profile update, or a website visit.’

    And in another:
‘The Newsletter plugin registers the last time a subscriber made actions like reading a newsletter, clicking on it, or changing their profile.’

I want to remove from my list only people who haven’t opened my emails at all for many months. However, I’d like to keep those who open emails but don’t click on links. Can anyone confirm exactly how the filtering of inactive subscribers works?
I plan to use the Subscribers/Maintenance panel to set a time window (e.g., 6+ months) to filter for users who have not engaged. Then add them to the ‘inactive’ list.

Thanks for clearing up my doubts!

    Hello,

Newsletter doesn’t automatically flag a subscriber as “inactive”, but instead it registers its last interaction, regardless of what it is (opens, clicks). Then, from the maintenance panel you can choose to add to a particular list those subscribers that didn’t interact with your newsletters within a set time frame. Once you have them in a list, you can perform further actions.
