ParticipantI have a suggestion for an improvement but first a question:
I’m using the Events Calendar plugin and it’s “range” is set to “31 days” which means it shows the events coming up in the next 31 days. So far so good.
However, multi-day events which span the next 31 days aren’t shown! If I have something which started last week and spans a 1 month period, the event is still valid today (and for the next 3 weeks or so), but it doesn’t show in this list. Only items which _start_ after today and within the 31 day period are shown. Is this a bug? Or should I request it as a new feature? 🙂Thanks – and Happy New Year!

KeymasterHi I need to check the extraction code, we usually try to use the functions provided by the plugin itself, maybe it’s a wanted behaviour or we are passing the plugin the wrong date range. I’ll check in a few days!
Thank you for reporting!January 5, 2026 at 7:42 pm #352618User

KeymasterHi, the extraction methods of that plugin use only the start date. They do not consider the “active events”. Usually it’s correct for short events, but you case we should add an option (and probably write custom code) to use the ending date instead of the starting date.
I have to plan a session to check the code and the available options.

ParticipantThanks for that reply Stefano – I see your point. If it’s only looking at the start date, then it can only look at future events, i.e., events which have not started yet, which in turn means it cannot tell if an event is ongoing right now.
Your proposal, to use the end date, would be what’s needed because that way you can answer the question “What has started and hasn’t finished yet?”I’ll leave this with you guys for the time being as I understand that new code, and plans, need to match your own development lifecycle. I think it could be a cool addition for the reasons mentioned in my first message – users can then show anything which is _running right now_ and not just upcoming events.
Thanks for the feedback and the awesome plugin!
