Cannot Change List names

I have used all 40 list names.
How do I change the name of an existing list so the new name will display in the list selector?

For example List 22 is named: Metaswitch
I would like to change it to: VIP
However, even when I change the name to “VIP” the list selector still displays “Metaswitch”

I thought, perhaps the way to do this would be to create a new list with the name I want, move everyone from the old Metaswitch to the new list, then remove the old Metaswitch list, but because I have used all 40 that is not an option.

Any help would be appreciated.
