I know how to tweak the HTML template for the email newsletters, but how do you change the actual message sent to new subscribers?
Right now, the subject line is “Welcome” and the message is, “This message confirms your subscription to our newsletter. Thank you!”
I would like to customize both of those to feel less robotic. I’m not seeing any settings to do so, though. Can someone help?

just go here Subscription > Settings > Welcome. In this panel you can edit both welcome page and welcome email.

To change the welcome email sent to new subscribers in The Newsletter Plugin, follow these simple steps:
Log in to your WordPress dashboard.
Go to Newsletter → Settings.
Open the Welcome / Subscription or Emails section (name may vary by version).
Find the Welcome Email or Subscription Confirmed Email option.

Use available placeholders (like subscriber name or email) to personalize the message.
Save your changes and, if possible, send a test email to ensure everything looks correct.
Once saved, all new subscribers will receive your updated welcome email automatically.
