I have a weekly automated newsletter and I wish to send out only articles published since the last newsletter (using the Last posts block). But it doesn’t seem to be working that way. Each week, I have to adjust the number of posts to ensure that all new posts are included and old ones excluded; otherwise, it will pull the number of posts specified in “Max Posts” on the Filters tab. On the Advanced tab of the newsletter settings, the information appears correct. It lists the Last sent time correctly and the next run data and it states: “Last time a newsletter has been generated and sent. This date is used to extract new contents on next scheduled run.”

Am I misunderstanding how this is supposed to work or is there a problem?

I forgot to mention that I checked under the “Automated” tab of the Last Posts block and ensured that “Use the last newsletter date” and “Include only new posts” are selected.

    Hi,

Posts block should work as you thought it would, checking last newsletter send date and including only posts published after that date. Did you experience this issue during a real Automated delivery or by testing from the composer panel?

Thanks for the reply, Michael. It has been happening for real automated deliveries. It has never worked as expected, but I only recently decided to delve into the issue.

It is working correctly after all. I guess my memory was playing tricks on me. It only happens with test posts, not with real automated deliveries. There is no issue after all. My apologies.

It’s ok Pete, it shouldn’t happen with test posts anyways, so we’ll check that.

    Have a nice day,
    Michael
