Name capture in double opt-in?

I’ve to use a minimal form due to space limitations on the footer. Obviously, it only captures the email address and not the name. Normally I would just use a conditional logic in Fluent Forms, but unfortunately it’s not supported by Newsletter.
So the only other option to capture first/last names seems to be the double opt-in page (which is more of an afterthought in its default configuration).
Is there an easy way to implement such a follow-up capture on a confirmation screen?

Hi, on the welcome message, you can display the profile form where the subscriber can give you more data. Just edit the welcome page and add the {profile_form} tag.
