.. continued…. WHEN we have 2-3 months between mailings?

We are having issues with resource usage and I’m trying to reduce all non-essential bits and pare down the the load on the server.

It seems to me that having cron run so frequently for nothing is odd and counterproductive. Am I getting something horribly wrong? I tried to find out more about this but found nothing.

I want to disable wp-cron in wp-config, use cron jobs in cpanel for a couple of items and I see this Newsletter hook in Cron Events in WP admin.

How can I simplify this and only run TNP related stuff when a mailing is going out.

There are a lot of task the plugin does, not only sending email. Anyway that task is ultra light if there is nothing to do, for sure lighter tan a single page visit, so it should not be a problem.
