Unending Confirmation Page Loop

I’m trying to help out a friend who has been unable to get The Newsletter Plugin working. The plugin does send the confirmation email, but when the user clicks the confirm link there she is taken back to the confirmation page instead of going on to the welcome page.

My friend doesn’t seem to have a WP admin page to use to configure the plugin. We only have FTP access, so I haven’t gotten very far. I’ve looked over The Newsletter files on the FTP site, but have no idea what to change.

Any guidance you can provide would be much appreciated.
