I have been testing the newsletter plugin over the last month. For the most part I was able to get through any issues by looking at the forum, beside this one.
If I subscribe to the newsletter, I am sent email confirmation and welcome message. The data is stored.
If I try to subscribe using the same existing email, it proceeds with the same process as if this email is not already subscribed.
I see that there is a special cases message that should deal with this sort of thing but it does not seem to be working. Is there a way to enable/ disable this sort of feature?

Same problem here. Have never tested this case. The validation seems not to work correctly.
I think it is important to have functioning correctly. I am surprised I have not seen anyone else post about it..
