Hello we have 2 questions about the plugin. We see it has options for smpt with authentication.

1.-But first question is if we enable smtp in the plugin this feature override the normal mail and replace the whole wordpress mail? Or just affect the newsletter plugin?
2.-If we don’t enable smpt in the newsletter plugin the newsletter plugin to send mail use the wordpress default mail?

We ask both questions because we already have in wordpress a plugin to send emails via smpt but we don’t want to cause conflicts between newsletter email smpt feature and wordpress main system email smpt plugin.

    Hi,

if you enable the SMTP ONLY the emails sent by Newsletter will use that SMTP, otherwise Newsletter uses the mailing system of WordPress. But check on main setting to have deselected the “send email directly”, otherwise Newsletter uses an independent method always relying on the blog server.

Of course, if you have an SMTP plugin, setting Newsletter (as is out of the box) to send using WP, emails are sent by your SMTP plugin.

The only limitation is that Newsletter cannot send the textual part and will send newsletter only as HTML.

    Stefano.
