Font Awesome Icons to Submit / Subscribe Button

Hi,
I’ve been struggling with this for a few days now, trying to add an icon to the submit button of a form created in the newsletter plugin. I saw somebody else post in here about a possible bug when using an icon. But how do I add an icon to the submit button? I’ve tried the i class but not sure if I was just formatting it wrong. For some reason I am not able to put my form in here but any help would be greatly appreciated!
