Allow user to edit language and country on profile page

There are option for language and country in the newsletter, but I see no way to allow the user to edit these properties on the profile page.
This would be useful in case geolocation gets it wrong, for imported emails and just in the interest of accurate data.
Is there a way to enable this?
Ideally the user would only be allowed to chose between a few options corresponding the the different languages that the newsletter is offered in.
