ParticipantHi, I am having a problem creating newsletters.
It was working Yesterday, 30th Sep 2025 but today I am unable to see the template.
Is this a license key issue?
I am using the latest Newsletter.Thank you in advance and regards,
PeterOctober 1, 2025 at 8:09 am #348835Stefano
KeymasterHi, no, it’s a bug we’re fixing right now. But when you open the newsletter editor for a new newsletter, the popup does not show up? That’s the problem?

ParticipantHi Stefano,
Thank you for your reply.
No, the popup does not show up, that’s the problem.
Is there any bypass this issue?October 1, 2025 at 10:48 am #348850Stefano

KeymasterHi, the first gray button should open the popup with the templates. Or are you referring to the old legacy themes?
If you update the plugin to version 8.9.8, you have a new button on the newsletter list page to start a new newsletter with the legacy themes.October 1, 2025 at 12:38 pm #348859User
ParticipantThe first gray button does not do anything.
However Template tab does open templates when click the first gray button.
The above screenshot is from “Add new” button from the Newsletters page as shown below.

FYI.. I have updated to 8.9.8 and I don’t use the legacy themes rather we have our own template for the newsletters.October 2, 2025 at 10:16 am #348931Michael
KeymasterHello,
I do apologize but I didn’t understand if the template button (first grey button) works or not in your website. I get that the template panel should pop up automatically after pressing “Add new” but I’d like to understand if by pressing the template icon it opens up.
Thanks,
MichaelOctober 2, 2025 at 10:31 am #348939User
ParticipantHi Michael,
Up until 30 September 2025, when you clicked “Add new”, the template panel popped up automatically.
Since yesterday (1 October 2025), the template panel no longer appears.
Also, the first grey button (the one I believe is the template button) doesn’t respond at all.Regards,

KeymasterHello Peter,
most probably there’s a javascript issue going on, there must be some kind of message appearing in your browser development console. If you’re familiar with that, it would be of great help knowing the content of that message. Alternatively, the only way is to let us have an admin access to your WordPress backend. You can email me at michael@thenewsletterplugin.com

ParticipantHi Michael,
I’ve noticed there’s been a new version, and I’ve updated it, but the same issue persists.
Last week, I emailed you regarding the admin access—have you had a chance to log in or check it yet?
Regards,
PeterOctober 6, 2025 at 1:27 pm #349174Michael
KeymasterHello Peter,
sorry for this delay but I hadn’t the time to log in to your website until today. I’ll get back to you as soon as possible.

ParticipantHi Michael,
I’ve just updated to version 9.0.1, but the template selection issue still persists.
Have you had a chance to check my website yet?My boss is willing to purchase a license if that’s required to resolve the issue.
Kind regards,
PeterOctober 15, 2025 at 8:25 am #349612Michael

KeymasterHello Peter,
your website is throwing a lot of connection errors when I try to navigate pages. I don’t know if this can be related to the template issue (no console errors are coming up) but I’d need to look deeper into that. I’ll be back as soon as possible.

ParticipantHi Michael,
Thank you for the information.
I couldn’t find any errors in the log file.
Could it be because the system is currently sending newsletters?Kind regards,
PeterOctober 15, 2025 at 6:13 pm #349672Michael
KeymasterHello Peter,
no, the sending newsletter shouldn’t be a cause for these kind of errors. I’m still troubleshooting, please bear with me.

ParticipantPage: /wp-admin/admin.php?page=newsletter_emails_composer
I have the same problem. All buttons in the newsletter editor aren’t working, except for the preview button, which generates an empty field. After clicking a button, the WP menus also stop working. So it’s definitely a JavaScript error that I haven’t found yet.
All other plugins have also been updated. However, the console doesn’t display any errors, which makes things difficult.
It also looks like tinymce isn’t loading at all. There should be an editor field below the buttons, but it isn’t there.
Okay, I’ll wait and see if a solution is found.

ParticipantI’ve found a little temporary workaround:
On the composer page open the Dev Console, click left at the <body …> tag, than in the right styles column uncheck the style “body .modal-open{overflow: hidden;}, it’s deaktivated then. Now you can the composer page scroll down and see the templates. Click to load one in the composer. The editor works.
I don’t know if sending will work then; I’m not allowed to send a newsletter from this customer’s page. The test button still doesn’t work.

ParticipantNothing new?
November 10, 2025 at 9:49 am #350637Michael
KeymasterHello,
these kind of errors are most likely linked to a conflict with another plugin or theme, as we extensively tried to replicate them, to no avail. There’s no simple way of troubleshooting this but the fastest way is to deactivate plugins one by one and test if the bug disappear after each deactivation.

ParticipantHi
This issue started after the version update on 30th September.
I don’t recall the exact version number at that time, but no new plugins have been installed since.
I believe the version released after 30th September is causing this issue.Peter

KeymasterHello Peter,
but which version of Newsletter are you using currently? Is the issue present even after last update?

ParticipantI’m currently using the latest version, and I’ve been updating regularly whenever a new version is released in hopes of resolving the template selection problem.

ParticipantHi Michael,
I first had to obtain permission from my client to perform a plugin check, because this requires putting the website into maintenance mode for a while.
The reason is an incompatibility with the theme plugin “Stockholm Core” version 2.4.8. The theme is called Stockholm from Theme Forest (envato market).
