Dear Customer,
we just released a new great feature for the SparkPost integration extension: the Turbo Send.
This feature parallelizes the newsletters delivery gaining up to 10x speed compared to the default sending mode.
Even though we took our time to test this feature on different environments, it could not work on cheap shared hostings or shared hostings with strict limits on the number of concurrent running processes. More importantly, cURL must be present in the PHP installation. You can check for it on Newsletter status panel.
We recommended to use it with PHP 5.6 or PHP 7+. We cannot guarantee compatibility with lower PHP versions (which, it's worth knowing, are no more supported by the PHP community, hence you should upgrade anyway).
Once activated, be sure to test it and to start with two or three processors and then increase them if you feel confident there are no issues.
All in all, keep them to the lowest value that grants you an acceptable delivery speed.
What to do
First of all, be sure that the last version of Newsletter is running on your system.
Simply go to the plugin updates panel and update the SparkPost extension (version 1.1.0 or greater). Then, enter the extension settings panel an selected the number of processors you want to start with. Save. Test. Done!
What about other external service integrations?
We're going to update all Newsletter extensions to implement the Turbo Send (as far as it's supported by each service) during the following weeks. Enter the Newsletter main settings, check if the license key is inserted correctly and save the options even if you didn't made any change.

That's it for now, have a great day! The Newsletter Team |
