Important update for Mailjet Integration users

Dear Customer,

lately Mailjet added some important new features to their delivery service which Newsletter is going to take advantage of, to improve delivery speed and bounce detection.

Mailjet, unluckily, has two platforms, one for new customers and another one with old customers. The older platform won't support those new features, so we can't add them to our integration.

Almost surely, if you use Mailjet, you're using the new platform, since it's been at least two years since they first activated it. But if your Mailjet account is rather old you could be linked to the old one.

What to do

Be sure there are not ongoing newsletters.

Enter the Newsletter main settings, check if the license key is inserted correctly and save the options even if you didn't made any change.

Update our Mailjet extension. You should find the update notice in your plugin list panel.

Check its settings, save the options and after that do a mailing test from the configuration panel.

If the test reports "success", everything is ok, nothing else must be done.

If the test reports an error, you probably are a Mailjet customer using their old platform. Open a ticket to Mailjet and ask to be migrated to their new platform, since your software needs to use their API version 3.1.

Meanwhile you should disable the extension and open a ticket with us so we can help you setup a temporary SMTP configuration, always using Mailjet.

If you want to configure the SMTP by yourself it is pretty easy: enter the Newsletter SMTP configuration panel (you can find it under "Settings").

Use these parameters:

  • Host: in.mailjet.com
  • Port: 465
  • Protocol: SSL
  • Username: you mailjet api key (you have it in your Mailjet Extension settings panel)
  • Password: you mailjet api secret (you have it in your Mailjet Extension settings panel)

Save and test it. DO NOT use the instructions you find on Mailjet support area: those are for the new platform and they dropped the documentatiom for the old one (yes, we already asked them about this).
