ParticipantHi Stefano.
This is truly an amazing plugin you’ve created, thank you for the time and effort you have spent providing us with it.
But I have a problem with the unsubscription I cant make it Work. When recieving the confirmation mail after subscribing, and I click on the link to unsubscribe, it takes me to the dedicated newsletter page or sends me to a 404 page.
If I create an unsubscribe page and insert the tag {unsubscription_url} or {unsubscription_confirm_url} it actually just shows these tags on the page as text.
I really need your help.
Best regards
Jesper

KeymasterIf you use those tags on the unsubscription messages configurable on configuration steps panel, they should work. Did you make a special page?

ParticipantStefano,
I have the same problem. Clicking on the unsubscribe at the received Newsletter, it only brings the subscriber (I use a hotmailtestaccount on a seperate computer) to the bottom (thus showing the first blog) of the blogpage which is the newsletterpage.
I did make a separate unsubscribe page with the tag {unsubscription_url} in it as well.
Ans btw the footer not only shows the “Unsubcribe”tag but also a “Manage subscriptions”, which gives the saem result.

KeymasterHi can you send me privately an unsubscribe link? Privately cause it contains the token.
I’ll try to trak it down to see what’s happening.

KeymasterHi, I received your email (or al least I think it’s your). What did you set on subscription steps on the newsletter page url option?
September 13, 2013 at 10:45 pm #9220Stefano
KeymasterHi, on subscription steps you set as newsletter dedicated page:
http://www.sailingoffline.nl/nieuws
but this url is the url of a post and there is not a public page dedicated to the newsletter with only the [newsletter] short code inside.
Create that page, with only the shortcode, open it on a browser, copy the full url and paste it on subscription steps panel. It will work.

ParticipantBut does this mean that the newsletter is public. It should be (all content) for the subscribers only

KeymasterThat page is only to subscribe and unsubscribe and show the subscription process messages.
Newsletters (messages) are managed from the newsletters panel.

ParticipantOk, the manage subscription works perfect. Shows how to unsubcribe, and database switches user to unsubscribed. Thanks.
But:
Clicking just the unsubscribe link , next to the other link on the same footerline of the mail, just brings me to that new page (and nothing happens any further)
Is that correct? Or is there another setting not correct?Peter

KeymasterHi, it should bring you to the dedicated page where the cancellation message is shown. The cancellation message has to be configured on subscription panel, on installation it has a default value.

KeymasterHi, as for the other user the link if wrongly stored in the unsubscription page. Try to edit it adding only {unsubscription_confirm_url}. Did you migrated the blog from a staging environment to the production?
I’m looking for a filter to avoid that problems.

ParticipantYes I moved from staging to Production.
However I found the solution as follows:
Go to Newsletter-> Subscription Steps -> unsubscription-> in Cancellation message -> Click Insert link icon -> in the pop form set Link url as {unsubscription_confirm_url} and target as open in same window.October 21, 2013 at 8:55 am #9533Stefano
KeymasterPerfect, anyway I added a patch to the next version so the absolute url are correctly managed. The editor uses absolute urls and changing the installation url of a wordpress leads to this problem.
