    Hi

This plugin is great and works brilliantly other than one small problem. The email that is generated to a subscriber with the “unsubscribe” link on it doesn’t work. It goes to my page and gives the message that i created in “list building / unsubscription / unsubscription message” telling the person they are unsubscribed. However, it doesn’t remove the subscriber or make the flag “unsubscribed”. BUT….. if i click the link in the email to change the subscriber options, it takes me to the page and allows me to update with no problem. If i click the unsubscribe link from that page, it unsubscribes fine.

My question is…. is there a way to make the link in the email work correctly, or alternatively alter the code of the email to only include the update link. that way a subscriber can unsubscribe within the website.

    Hopefully that makes sense

    Thanks
    Andy

    Update….

I’ve found the only file in the whole of the package that contains the unsubscription details. It is stored in newsletter/subscription/languages/en_US.php

I’ve changed the text to take out the unsubscribe link and changed the remaining text to say “to update profile or delete subscription…etc”. But the file doesn’t seem to refresh. Normally in a browser to get a changed page update i press ctrl F5 to reload the page….. but is there anything i can do for the server end to re-read the php file other than restarting the server which i can’t do as i am on a third party hosting.

However, i could be barking up the wrong tree completely, so any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks
    Andy

Al messages can be set on panels under the list building menu. Even the unsubscribe message. It’s rather strange the link in the email does not work, it should or show the would you really unsubscribe message or a direct unsubscribed message (it depend if you’re using the unsubscription_url or the unsubscription_confirm_url).

    Hi

Thanks for your response. Yes the message does show. It goes to the webpage and shows the message that i set up saying “sorry to see you go” etc. but it doesn’t update the status to unsubscribed. If you go to to “update preferences”, you can click on the link on the page to unsubscribe which does work. Very odd.

Sorted it…. I was looking too deep for the problem. It was as Stefano said…. in the settings for the welcome email…. Just took me a while to find. But all works fine now.
