Unsubscribe from only 1 list

I use the current version of the plugin for 3000 subscribers (no individual logins are used)
I want to create a new topic and send a series of newsletters to all my current subscribers.
I was going to use the “private preferences” and “list” features and add the new name/label to all subscribers’ profiles
But I’m concerned if they unsubscribe from any of new series of newsletters, they will also unsubscribe from my original newsletter as well.

How can I allow my subscribers to unsubscribe from a specific list – without having them change their own profile.
Is there a way to include a custom URL in the newsletter to remove that list’s name/label (in other words, remove that preference) from their profile?
