I’ve taken over running a site with the Newsletters plugin from someone else and am having issues with viewing the past newsletters and sending new ones.

I’ve done a search on here and on Google and haven’t found anything that seems to solve the problem I’m having.

When going to the Newsletters page, there’s a message that “Your Newsletter installation has emails still in old format. To get them listed, you should convert them in a new format. Would you to convert them now?” followed by a “Convert Now” button. Clicking the button just results in a “Database error” with no further information.

Does anyone have any ideas about what can be done to convert the emails or how to fix this?

    Plugin version: 3.9.7
    Wordpress version: 4.3.1

    Thanks everyone.

I’ve been looking into this since posting and have had no issues with upgrading the content on a local version of WordPress using a copy of the same database.

I’m guessing it’s related to the remote server config but all of the diagnostic tests say that everything is OK and writeable, where applicable.

I guess that in the worst case, I can update the remote DB with the updated local DB.

Apologies for the triple post, but it’s been too long since I posted the last one to edit.

The remote DB is now in sync with the local DB relating to the Newsletter fields. But now it’s not allowing me to create new newsletters on the remote server (works fine on the local one). Clicking on “New Newsletter” results in “You do not have sufficient permissions to access this page.” even though I’m logged in as the admin user.

I’ve tried deleting the plugin and reinstalling, and disabling all other plugins, but nothing has worked. The rest of the plugin seems to work fine, just not the New Newsletter.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Check the wp-content/logs/newsletter folder for files and send me (stefano@thenewsletterplugin.com) them: here the full log is recorded.
