Subscribe Design and question about inject in footer

Hello.

I would like to know if i can make my own subscribe button and design to put it in my footer.
But I have one problem. The guy that builded up the theme told me that i cant put something in the footer section.
Do you know if i can do it by the footer.php file??
And if i can, would you mind showing me how to do it with a tutorial or something???

Who made the theme should add a widget area in the footer, there is no other solution.
