This sounds like the same issue I reported in January, where I reported that this was happening when you use the “Choose or upload an image” button.
Stefano’s response was “It’s a library of wordpress that, on some installation, does not work. And I was unable to fix it..BUT don’t worry, I’m releasing a fix on my plugin with a different code to manage the images. In the meanwhile you can insert an image using the image button on the editor toolbar a copying there the image url uploaded.”
Stefano, has this fix been released yet?April 13, 2014 at 10:04 am #10927
Yes on la test versione the plugin does no use anymore the old method To get the image reference from the wp picker.April 24, 2014 at 7:41 pm #10981semi-kParticipant

Where can I get the test version which has the images encoded in the email? (They show just fine in the edit view of the newsletter.)May 4, 2014 at 11:01 pm #11028
There is not a version with images embedded in the email. We were talking about the image picker.May 5, 2014 at 5:24 pm #11044websaddrParticipant
Where can I get that version, then?May 6, 2014 at 9:32 pm #11058
It’s the latest version of the plugin from WordPress.org.
