I’m using CF7 Newsletter plugin extension and have 2 questions:
1) When a user registers with the contact form, how can I display something similar to what is displayed using the sidebar widget “You have successfully subscribed to the newsletter. You’ll receive a confirmation email in few minutes …”. I can of course modify the default message used by CF7 “Your message has been sent successfully” but I don’t know how to display a different message only when the user has checked the newsletter box.
2) Still using contact form, the user can enter first name and last name separately in addition to email address. This information is not captured by the Newsletter plugin (missing in the newsletter subscription alert). Therefore in the subscriber subscription confirmation, the first name is not displayed (“Hi” instead of “Hi John” with the sidebar widget). After confirmation of the subscription, first name and last name are missing from the record in the database.
Please note I’m using the default message templates. Is there a way to capture first and last name as if the user were using the sidebar widget?
The cf7 integration does not capture the name an last name. About the message we cannot change the cf7 message, you should say in the thank you message of cf7: “if you subscribed to our newsletter, please confirm it following the email you’ll receive shortly”.
