Preferences and lists

Hello. We currently have a subset of our newsletter subscribers who we want to send newsletters out specifically. I see the preferences section to create new sets, but is there a way to add this new preference to a section of the subscriber base? The only way I can see if manually adding this to each profile, which is not efficient. I have 80 users I want to send this separate email out to.

Am I looking at this wrong or would this require a feature set change?

Actually I just found the update on the import function. Problem solved.
