ParticipantHello Stefano,
thank you for your great PlugIn which I am using in version 3.8.8 … at least from what I can see in the overwhelming amount of configuration available. The more the better. 🙂
Unfortunately I can’t get it sending confirmation eMails to a subscriber. I’ve set up the log and here’s an excerpt from it:
... 15-01-2016 10:44:11 - DEBUG - 48,2 MB - Replace start 15-01-2016 10:44:11 - DEBUG - 48,2 MB - Replace end 15-01-2016 10:44:11 - DEBUG - 48,2 MB - mail> To: xxx@xxxxxx.xx 15-01-2016 10:44:11 - DEBUG - 48,2 MB - mail> Subject: 15-01-2016 10:44:11 - DEBUG - 48,2 MB - mail> Subject empty, skipped 15-01-2016 10:45:21 - DEBUG - 48,2 MB - hook_newsletter> Start 15-01-2016 10:45:21 - DEBUG - 48,2 MB - hook_newsletter> Emails found in sending status: 0 15-01-2016 10:45:21 - DEBUG - 48,2 MB - hook_newsletter> End ...
(the xxx@xxxxxx.xx is of course a valid eMail address)
It appears to me there’s a »Subject« missing. But the only place I can see to set up an eMail-»Subject« is here:
Newsletter > Subscription Steps > Confirmation
Confirmation email: {my subject}I’ve filled it with a subject regarding to my website. Still no eMail send. 🙁
Please advice.
Kind regards,
Henrik FischJanuary 15, 2016 at 12:29 pm #20054Stefano
KeymasterHi, did you test the sending of emails from your blog from the newsletter diagnostic panel? Can you test it and report possible errors?
January 15, 2016 at 12:33 pm #20055hfisch
ParticipantHey! 🙂
Yes, I did test sending eMails using
Newsletter > Diagnostic > Tests
Send an email with WordPressand it works.
January 15, 2016 at 12:47 pm #20057Stefano
KeymasterOk, and the other test (with Newsletter)? Does it work?
January 15, 2016 at 1:03 pm #20058hfisch
ParticipantHey again.
Now I am quite unsure what you mean:
I’ve already set up a subscriber, set him to »Test subscriber« and tried to send him the »Confirmation«-eMail:
Newsletter > Subscription Steps > Confirmation
Send a testDoes not work with the output in the log file provided in my first post.
Is this what you mean or is there something different?

KeymasterInside the diagnostic panel there are two button to execute two tests. Both are working? If the answer is yes and the reconfirmation is not sent, your provider is filtering the email.

ParticipanteMails are also send with the button [Send few emails with Newsletter]. Altogether three: One with PLAIN, one with HTML and one with both.
What about this »Subject empty, skipped« in the log-file (see my first post above)? It looks like there’s somewhere a subject which need to be set and which isn’t. But I can’t find any.

ParticipantUh, oh,
suddenly it starts to work. I have no idea what’s going on but eMails are now send through your PlugIn.
Thank you for your quick support! 🙂
Kind regards,
HenrikJanuary 15, 2016 at 2:54 pm #20065Stefano
KeymasterHas the confirmation email an empty subject?
January 15, 2016 at 2:59 pm #20066hfisch
ParticipantNope,
the Subject of the confirmation-eMail is exactly set as defined under
Newsletter > Subscription Steps > Confirmation
Confirmation email: …The logfile confirms this. 🙂
Kind regards,
Henrik -
