No confirm message after sign up

I’m using single opt-in and have the shortcode [ newsletter_form form=”1″ ] on the home page but when you input your e-mail and click sign up, there’s no confirmation it just takes you to my mailing list page http://www.buybeatsfast.com/mailinglist/?nm=confirmed&nk=3-587978c13b

It signs you up but there’s no confirm message. After you input your email and sign up I would like it to show a text confirmation message in place of the sign up form using javascript, I have the welcome message set up under the Welcome tab. Why is it not working?

Ok I figured out if I remove the url http://www.buybeatsfast.com/mailinglist/ from “WordPress page URL for messages” then it goes to a page http://www.buybeatsfast.com/wp-content/plugins/newsletter/subscription/page.php?nm=confirmed&nk=8-3b4da4dd4f with the text confirming the sign up.

Is it possible to just use javascript for the welcome message text instead of a whole new page? I want the text to replace the sign up form on buybeatsfast.com with the text after they sign up.
