ParticipantCiao Stefano,
I’m having problems sending out the newsletter at the stated speed. I contacted my tech support (thinking for some reason my sending limit had been reduced but it had not. They looked at the server logs and said:
“We have not placed any limits on the email sending. However, in the server logs I see that your script unexpectedly disconnects the SMTP session for some reason. It could well be because the script may be taking too much time to process the queue and thus leave the server waiting for a response for too long which would cause the server to reach its timeouts (I am supposing here).
I now increased the server limits. Please, give the email sending another try. ”
Well.. it didn’t help. I wonder is something else is going on. Mod_security is not installed and I have successfully sent out newsletters many, many times!
Maybe a php incompatibility?
Here are my diagnostics…

KeymasterHi, go to the diagnostic panel of Newsletter and enable to logs to debug level. Here the plugin should track the SMTP error. May be in the logs there is already the error listed. Check the logs folder.
Let me know.
Bye, Stefano.

ParticipantI added the xx’s in the email addresses. When I force the delivery engine trigger, the newsletter sending count only goes up by one. And this is what is logged….

11-10-2014 13:22:41 – ERROR – 41.5 MB – mail> SMTP Error: data not accepted.

ParticipantCiao Stefano, my web host found the solution. Php was up-graded a couple of weeks ago and the default php.ini was causing problems. The re-named my local file to php.ini.back and raised the server memory limit to 600 MB.
They still got some errors when sending a test e-mails…

Ciao,

P.S. The anti-spam messages are apparently default php messages – caused by the upgrade- the host was not actively or purposely limiting the mails.

KeymasterAnyway the worse problem was that:
The following From address failed: bounce@hippressurecooking.com : MAIL FROM command failed,,
you address used in the return path was not accepted by the smtp server. This is a thing that only the provider can sort out.
Bye, Stefano.
