I’m using the newsletter since a year and I really like it. Now I had to realize it’s not working anymore for my page.

The Newsletter plugin told me all newsletters were sent, but the people tell me they didn’t recieve any. I tried to test the system and I get a time-out error:

Fatal error: Maximum execution time of 30 seconds exceeded in /www/htdocs/w00d2c18/webseiten/site/wp-includes/class-phpmailer.php on line 879

Can anyone help me with this?

Are you using an SMTP? If not, probably PHP is not able to run the sendmail process. You should contact the provider.

Hi Stefano, I have a problem with the Newsletter plugin. I send the Newsletter to the test suscribers but the next text error appears:
“Test emails sent to 2 test subscribers. Read more about test subscribers here.
If diagnostic emails are delivered but test emails are not, try to change the encoding to “base 64″ on main configuration panel”.
I´ve changed to “base 64” on main configuration pane but it isn´t work…
    Please, can anyone help me?

    Thank you! 🙂

@Stefano: So far I hadn’t used SMTP. I tried to activate the SMTP function yesterday with two different sets, but both produced the same error. But I’m going to give it another try tonight, maybe I did the settings wrong.

If I contact the provider, what shall I tell/ask him?

I really wonder what happened, I wasn’t informed by my provider of any changes since September. (in September the newsletter mailing still worked).

Thank you for the support! Highly appreciated!

I already got answer from my provider! Looks like they use PHP Version 5.2 and it has a bug with sendmail in combination with the used system of the server. I will move to another server and hopefully the problem will be solved. 🙂

Upgrade to php 5.3, version 5.2 starts to be a little outdated.
