ParticipantHi
Thanks for an awesome plugin. I can’t wait to have this fully setup and running.
Here is my challenges:
ISSUE 1 – NEWSLETTER APPEARS ON MENU AUTOMATICALLY AND I CAN’T REMOVE IT
I allowed the plugin to create the dedicated newsletter page with [newsletter]; I have not added this to the menu.
I created a second page for the subscription form, [newsletter_form] which I have added to the top menu via the appearance/menu function.
The menu setting in WP admin panel are NOT checked to automatically add new pages to the menu.
I am using Customizer theme.
But somehow the newsletter page is automatically added to the theme menu!
I’ve tried resetting the page, and it made a new one called newsletter-2. And it still shows as the top of the menu.
You can view it here;
http://www.livingstonesspa.co.zaPlease advise what I should do to remove it? The newsletter-2 page only asks for email address to subscribe, but I need more than that from clients.
ISSUE 2 – FIELD FOR CITY ON SUBSCRIBE FORM DOES NOT SHOW THE FIELD TO BE EDITED
I added the short code for the city as per your tutorial using this code in the form:
[newsletter_form button_label="Go!"]
[newsletter_field name="first_name" label="Your name"]
[newsletter_field name="last_name" label="Your last name (surname)"]
[newsletter_field name="email" label="Your email address"]
[newsletter_field name="profile" number="1" label="City"]
[/newsletter_form]
all fields and labels are displayed except the City label – just shows City as text on the subscription page.
The browser I use is Mozilla Firefox.
I am not a programmer so am not quite sure how to fix all those things above. I would appreciate any help at all on these.
Thanks so much

KeymasterAbout the page added to your menu, check your menu setting surely you activated the “automatically add new pages to menu”. From WP menu management you should be able to remove that menu entry. The page is a simple WP page, you can even remove it, if you need.
About the profile field, I’ll check it, it should work. But make sure the field is configured on form fields panel.
Stefano.

ParticipantHi Stefano
Thanks for the speedy reply.
No, the items is not checked on the menu, as I said before. Please see screenshot at this link:
http://www.livingstonesspa.co.za/Menu.jpgNot only is it not checked to add menu items automatically, but if you look on the items on the menu, NEWSLETTER is not on that list. And yet if you visit the website, http://www.livingstonesspa.co.za there NEWSLETTER is plain as day on the top menu. I’ve tried adding and removing it and still no joy.
I even looked on the menu in the theme settings and NEWSLETTER does not show up there either.
Re profile field, thanks I think that is the problem I will try that and report back for future readers;)
Thanks!

ParticipantHi again
Thanks re the profile thing, I sorted it out, that was the problem.
But I still can’t figure out why NEWSLETTER is showing on the menu.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks!

ParticipantHi Stefano
You mentioned earlier I can just delete or remove the NEWSLETTER page. But I thought it was important to show the various NEWSLETTER messages. Are you saying I should just not have that page at all? Then where will the messages populate?
Thanks

KeymasterYou can keep that page and set its url on Subscription setting, if you remove it and clear the relative configuration on Subscription setting, Newsletter will show the message in a blank page.

ParticipantHi Stafano
I have no idea what you just said.
Example;
what do you mean, set its url to “Subscription setting” where or what is this subscription setting? Please explain, I am reading your documentation and can’t seem to find any reference to this on the subscription page here:
https://www.thenewsletterplugin.com/plugins/newsletter/subscription-moduleThen you say ” if you remove it and clear the relative configuration on Subscription setting, Newsletter will show the message in a blank page.” – Remove what?
Thanks!
