    Here I am again…. With another question….

In my newsletter i put the link to unsubscribe or modify preferences.

Now, I’d like to ask subscriber to forward some newsletter to their friends to gain more subsribers. The problem is that with the email thei will forward also the links with tokens and other could delete or modify their subscription.

Is there a way to put a link in the message to forward the message from the newsletter page? Obviously in the message head we need to put who has forwarded it (using the user token)…

    I hope I’ve explained what I’m asking for….

    Many thanks again.

Hi, actually there is no such possibility, I’m sorry, the link contains the secret token and if forwarded it is revealed to others. The same problem is for other email marketing system when email contains the unsubscription url… I think there is not a real solution that create a special function started by a link and asking an email address where to send a copy of the email…

Hi, looking for this option I’ve found in phplist. Even in that case if you forward the email you send also your secret token but there is a link option to forward the message through the web site. Don’t know if this can be replicated.

    Thanks for your efforts.

Yes, for sure it can be replicated, I don’t know how much effort is to do it inside the plugin… I keep in on the list!

    Hi there!

in the expensive professional newsletter-systems I worked with, the problem is solved as follows:

forwarding means to the system that there is created a new newsletter without the actual secret tokens etc.

You also can’t forward the newsletter “normally” in your mail-client, but you have to click on a link in the newsletter (call it for example “forward to a friend”) – so you get to a page of the newsletter system, where you can write the email-address of the new user und your own (as sender. This is not a technically necessary feature, but for German law thus the legal responsibility lies with the sender ;)).

The forwarding-system of even the most professional newsletter-tools works more or less like a new subscription.

I hope this is of help 🙂

    Best regards, connie
