Hi, I would like to generate multiple newsletters for my blog subscribers. Actually I would like to have a newsletter per category in my blog and have subscribers choose the newsletters (categories) they would like to receive. Can I do this with Feed to Mail or just by the newsletter plugin?

    Thanks,
    Steve

Actually there is not such option but since my wife (it’s not a joke) is stressing me to have that feature on her site… probably I’ll shortly find the way to add it.

Hi Stefano, I look forward to seeing this option.
Quickly, I would like to see the ability of the subscriber to pick the category when enrolling. On the Newsletter config page, I would like to see a Category include section, not just the Category exclude, as if you add a new Category, do not want to have to go to all of the newsletters and mark the exclusions.
If I understand correctly, you will add a multiple newsletter capability with the newsletter allowing for a particular category only. It will send only the latest posts and the widget will allow for the subscriber to pick that category (or newsletter) and the subscriber will also be able to modify their profile to add or delete said newsletters.
Hope this is along the lines you are thinking.
    Thanks,

Actually it will be, probably, a complete new module to create automated channels. Similar to feed by mail but since it has some “legacy” code it probably would be better to have a different module for compatibility.

Another question in this area: is it possible to use feed by mail for custom post types as well? Thanks!

Hi, actually the posts are “prepared” by Feed by Mail and so no custom post are extracted.

Actually a theme modification could be enough to extract the custom posts even if feed by mail won’t run correctly since it considers only normal posts when looking for new ones.

Yes, I should modify it, definitively. I put that on work ASAP.

    Stefano.
