I am just now configuring Mandrill and I think I am doing everything I am supposed to do in both my Domain name server, my cPanel and inside mandrel to get it all working right. As far as I can see I have done everything correctly but when I open up the Mandrill tab in the newsletter plugin on my WP panel and under the tab called SMTP I click the “send a message to this email” button I get the error message:

SMTP server error: 4.7.1 : Relay access denied

    What to do?

Relay error is very strange. What do you set on mandril panel? You should only configure it, there is no need to configure something in your cpanel.

I have been doing so many things over the last few days I forgot what I was talking about when I wrote this… 😛

but I was having so much trouble so was googling and watching YouTube videos trying to figure it all out and I saw this video:

And did what he said to do in that video and then it worked.

And now it seems to be working fine.

With that kind of configuration you are sending all emails from mandrillapp, you don’t need the mandrill extension.

But I am using the newsletter plugin to send out and compose the email. So are you saying that with those settings enabled I am overriding/not using the Mandrill plugin?
