ParticipantHi Stephano,
I know I’m not terribly computer savvy, but I just don’t understand how to lock a section. I have some ebooks I want to put under the catagorie “Reserved” and I have made a main menu tab for this. When I add the post, I put reserved in the tag and put [newsletter_lock] then the ebook then [/newsletter_lock]
But how do I tell if it has worked and then how do I let people access it?May 8, 2013 at 4:39 pm #8129Stefano
KeymasterIf you open the page with the lock tag being logged off the site, you should see the block replaced by a subscription form or at least empty so you know it’s cutting off the protected part.
Can you send me at stefano@satollo.net one of those pages/posts?
Stefano.

ParticipantI have an issue with the locked content function.
My configuration :
– category to lock : reserve
– url to unlock : http://conseiller-patrimonial.louiset-strobbe.fr/sujets/reserve => I don’t find explanation on how to configureIssue :
I set a post with category “reserve” and newsletter_lock. But after a test, a subscriber can not access to the protected content.
How can people access it ?
Problem with supercache, db cache reloaded, … ?July 16, 2013 at 9:50 pm #8789Stefano
KeymasterHi, when a user confirm the subscription automatically, with a cookie, the reserved content should be unlocked. You can use even the {unlock_url} tag in your welcome email (or welcome screen) so the user will be redirect to your configured page (in your case the list of posts) but using a newsletter controlled function that grants the presence of the cookie.
The cache can be a problem, you should force the cache to not “cache” when there is the “newsletter” cookie.

ParticipantHi,
It is exactly that i did with my welcome email.
But it does not work. For cache solution, wich page or pages should not cache ?
And how with WP Super cache or htaccess ?David

KeymasterYou should not cache the reserved pages since they have two version (with and without content).
You should configure wp-super-cache to skip the caching process if there is the “newsletter” cookie.
Can you forward to me a copy of the welcome email?
Stefano.

ParticipantHi Stefano.
I am trying to block some posts on my page, but I did not manage to do it. All posts are still visible. I have tried all of your advices, but it doesn´t work. Can you help me please?

KeymasterYou cannot block a post, you can block the post content, Is that not working?
May 30, 2014 at 11:09 am #11196jaroman
ParticipantNo, I have just blocked part of the post. You can see it here in my test post:
http://www.tajomstvochudnutia.sk/pokus/
I have added [newsletter_lock] and [/newsletter_lock] before and after the text “you should not see”.
I have added this post into the category “blokovane” which is the category I want to lock by the newsletter plugin.
Where is the problem? How can I solve it?

KeymasterAnd in fact I cannot see the text and I see the subscription block.
