I just made and sent a newsletter but then after some time a checked up on it and it said that 0 emails were sent.

Then after a long time of trying to figure out why the newsletter was not being sent, I finally noticed that there is a small message on the top of the screen when I am inside the Newsletter page that reads:

“The delivery engine is off (it should never be off). Deactivate and reactivate the plugin. Thank you.”

So I deactivated and reactivated the plugin and nothing happened. Also the message was still there.

    Please help

p.s. on a side note – My humble suggestion is that message should be in a colored box or something so people will notice it.

usually that happens when newsletter cannot add a scheduled plan to wordpress.
If you can install my free diagnostic plugin from the download area, you should be able to see the schedules listed under the “cron” panel. Can you report them to me?

It sent the news letter out about a day later. I do not understand or know why.

    But here is the cron

Is that what you were asking for?

The scheduler is ok. Maybe you need to use and external trigger to keep the cron system of WP working correctly. See the Newsletter documentation and the delivery engine dedicated page.

I am having this issue also. There is a message saying “The delivery engine is off (it should never be off). See the System Check below to reactivate it.”
When I click “Trigger the delivery engine” it sends 16 emails, but that’s it. How do I reactivate the delivery engine and why is it off? The information you provided in this post is unclear to me. How do I keep the cron system working correctly?

If the delivery engine shuts down, probably there is a plugin interfering with the wordpress cron system. If you deactivate the plugin and reactivate it, the engine should restart.
