Extra Profile Fields – make visible as column in Subscribers list +be searchable

I like the functionality of the extra profile fields however they are not searchable and there is no way to display them in the subscribers list as a visible column that could be sorted on.
Is there a way to make that functional or do I have to hack the plugin to get what would be normal functionality for a plugin that offers extra profile fields?
