    Hi,

Since last Saturday, October 3, the sending of newsletter from my site is not working anymore.

In main-4bc6ceda.txt in the logs directory, I see:

    03-10-2015 09:14:25 – DEBUG – 69.4 MB – Replace end
    03-10-2015 09:14:25 – DEBUG – 69.4 MB – mail> To: usb.paul@gmail.com
    03-10-2015 09:14:25 – DEBUG – 69.4 MB – mail> Subject: Call for Papers – Early Bird registration
    03-10-2015 09:14:25 – ERROR – 69.4 MB – mail> Could not instantiate mail function.
    03-10-2015 09:14:25 – DEBUG – 69.3 MB – Replace start

The last time it did work was on September 29th. The following was written the same file then:

    22-09-2015 17:26:44 – DEBUG – 52.7 MB – Replace end
    22-09-2015 17:26:44 – DEBUG – 52.7 MB – mail> To: usb.paul@gmail.com
    22-09-2015 17:26:44 – DEBUG – 52.7 MB – mail> Subject: Call for Papers – Early Bird registration
    22-09-2015 17:26:44 – DEBUG – 52.7 MB – Replace start

Is there a change in one of the recent releases that could account for this?

    Best,
    Paul Bakker

It seems your provider does not allow the blog to send email! Try the diagnostic panel of Newsletter but probably you should open a support ticket to your provider.

For whom it may help, sending email through the mail function suddenly stopped working for me as described above, but using the SMTP settings in the Newsletter plugin fixed my problem. Previously, I remember explicitly choosing not to use SMTP for a very definite reason, but I can’t remember it now and it works.

    Paul
