ALL subscribers who want to confirm fail to do so, because they get an error saying Javascript and Cookies need to be activated. My own tests succeed. Of course the reason could be that all those people do not have the proper setting – but its unlikely they will start changing their settings because of a newsletter. It seems that the usefulness of the subscription confirmation implementation renders it almost useless if all subscribers fail to succeed at the confirmation step… is there a different way to tackle this?
Feel free to try if the error has a different reason, just make a test subscription at http://www.gpgliders.info
We already saw rhat error and everytime is was due to another plugin. Try to disable security plugins for example, but it could be any plugin. Let me know if you find which plugin is creaking the Subscription so I can contact the author.
I found the culprit: WP-SpamShield latest Version 1.9.7.3 | Von Scott Allen
If I disable it, subscription works. If it is enabled, I get an error message! If they can fix the problem, it would be great if someone can let me know, I’d love to activate their spam protection again.
