I’m using the Godaddy SMTP using your instructions (sending through WordPress doesn’t work). When I try to send a test email (any kind of test email) I get a success message that it worked, but then I never receive the email. When I try to send the newsletter, everything seems to work. It all looks great: the status says “Sending” and slowly the list goes from 0 emails sent to 43 emails sent (I only have 43 confirmed subscribers). The logs show no errors. So, it seems like everything is working, but the emails never arrive! I keep checking my Inbox, and nothing comes. Very frustrating. Please help. I appreciate any help you can give. By the way, the “From” email address is a valid email address with the same domain as the website.

I got it working, but your instructions are all wrong, Stefano. Here’s how to make a GoDaddy shared hosting account work with Newsletter:

    SMTP host: smtpout.secureserver.net Port: 80
Authentication: the username and password for your Godaddy email account

No, that is your SMTP mail service on godaddy, they should have a generic mail service for sites… or maybe they changed it.
