When subscribers register for a newsletter om ny blogsite (www.ukulelebloggen.se) they get an email with a confirmation link as they should. But when they click the link (or use the URL provided in the same email) they get the message “ERROR: Sorry, there was an error. Please be sure JavaScript and Cookies are enabled in your browser and try again.”
They are registered on the subscribers list, but not confirmed. The same happens to me when I register on the site (http://ukulelebloggen.se/?page_id=782).

    What have I done wrong?

Please, try to disable any security plugin you have installed (if one) and let me know.

Yes you we’re right. With WP-SpamShield deactivated the confirmation process works fine.
I’m a bit worried though that this will lead to very much spam.
Do you know of any anti-spam plugin that works well with the newsletter plug in (which I so far think is super!)

Just tested and it works for me. Please copy the confirmation link on a clean browser where you’re not logged in in the admin side of the blog, probably the problem is there (even if it should not…).

Thank you for this helpful post. I had the same issue with WP-Spam-Shield. Now I use another Anti-Spam Plugin. And it works fine.
