ParticipantWhen a new mailing list subscriber joins, an email is not sent to their email account, therefore all subscribers are not confirmed.
I can send an email manually with the “resend confirmation” button, but who wants to do that every time? I’m using a custom confirmation message page right after they submit the form. It takes them to http://www.website.com/confirm.
I don’t know why subscribe.php is not sending the initial email. Does anyone else have this issue?

KeymasterHi, can you share the site url so we can test a subscription?

ParticipantMy site URL is http://www.infiniteyoga.org.

KeymasterHi I tested it and the email does not come. Would you give me an admin access to the site so I can debug the problem? Contact me at stefano@thenewsletterplugin.com. I’ll follow the subscription process in the code till the email sending point to see if some errors are rised.

ParticipantSent you two emails. It’s not sending the resend confirmation emails either… I did fix a separate issue with it not sending from the From address. I had to create that email account with the cPanel on BlueHost. But back to the issue, I can send test emails from the Diagnostic view and welcome messages from the Subscribers panel. We sent out a newsletter a few days ago but we had to send it to all unconfirmed users. All subscribers received and opened it. It’s just the confirmation email, why is that one different from every other message?

KeymasterSo Bluehost is applyaing a spam filter. Change the confirmation email text and remove the word subscription. I received the account email, but it does not work.

ParticipantCrossing my fingers it keeps working, I think it was BlueHost blocking the emails due to the spam-like contents. A big thanks! How did you discover the BlueHost issue?

KeymasterFew time ago another person had the same problem: I don’t remember exactly if it was with bluehost, but now when everything else work but the confirmation email, the first thing I try is to change the email text. As you can see, your confirmation email has not spam content, they are the filter of bluehost badly configured!
On next version of newsletter we’ll change the default confirmation text to take care of that odd problem.

ParticipantI’m having the same darn problem. I removed subscribe, subscription, and changed it to “sign up” both in the text body and the email titles. Still does not work.
Single opt in works fine. What a pain.
This is for a client of mine, so I cannot give out details. Do you have any other suggestions on how to fix this.

KeymasterDid you try to change the whole message. Something like this is a confirmation email with a changed subjected as well?
Stefano.
