    Hi,

I’m on newsletter version 3.8.8 and wordpress version 4.3.1. I have used newsletter successfully for a few months now.

I can create a new newsletter, but when I try to save (or send) it, I get a blank screen that just says “database error”. I have deactivated and reactivated the plugin to no avail.
I could try uninstalling and reinstalling, but if I do that will I lose my subscriber list?

    Thanks,
    MM

Just an update. I updated to vesion 3.9.0 today and still get “database error” when trying to save a newsletter.

Should I delete and reinstall the plugin? If so, will I lose my subscribers?

    Thanks,
    MM

Hi, nothing will be lost if you reinstall the plugin, anyway try firstly to deactivate and reactivate the plugin.
Check the diagnostic panel as well and try to report me the Database Charset/Collate value. Check even the folder wp-content/logs/newsletter and find a file store-xxxx.log. Can you send it to me? (stefano@thenewsletterplugin.com)

    Thank you, Stefano.

Store-xxx sent via e-mail. I also deactivated / reactivated to no avail.

    The database/charset value is UTF8.

My next step will be to uninstall / reinstall but I’ll wait to hear from you first.

    Thanks,
    MM

I received your files, but the logs have nothing more to understand the problem. Can you give me an administrative access so I can try to save the email which gave you that error and debug it? If so, stefano@thenewsletterplugin.com.

    Thank you.

Hi there – was this ever resolved? I’m getting the same error when I’m attempting a new newsletter and click ‘Proceed to Edit’.

Hi, try to force an upgrade from the diagnostic panel, for example. Database errors should be reported in the logs (wp-content/logs/newsletter/*.txt).

    Stefano.
