    I tried using the backup method listed on the newsletter site to transfer from old site (whose database was a mess and had many problems) to new site, new database everything.

    the import was successful and got all the subscriber in the newsletter plugin, but when my viewers try to subscribe to the newsletter, they get redirected to the old domain and get this error: “Database error. If you were saving a newsletter try a table upgrade from the status panel.”

    how can i fix this?

    Hi, probably the site is using custom HTML forms and not the standard one (where the URL is build automatically). Try to check that directly in site pages’ source, specially if the form has been created by a coder for you.
    Check even on WP main settings how is set the blog URL and the site url.
