In a few days, we will release an updated version of the Amazon SES Integration addon for The Newsletter plugin. Please review the following details to ensure your email services continue to run smoothly.
What is changing?
We are updating the Amazon SDK (Software Development Kit) to address a general vulnerability within the library. Note: Our addon does not use the affected components, so your site is currently safe. However, the new version of these libraries requires PHP 8.1 or higher.
Action Required
Please check your PHP version now to determine your next steps:
If your PHP version is...
- 8.1 or greater: No action needed. Simply update the addon via your Plugins page when it becomes available.
- 8.0 or 7.x: Contact your hosting provider to upgrade to PHP 8.3 or 8.4. PHP 7.4 has been unsupported since 2022.
What if I can't update PHP yet?
If you cannot upgrade your server to PHP 8.1 immediately, do not update the Amazon SES Addon. We recommend disabling "Auto-updates" for this specific addon on your Plugins page to prevent delivery errors.
