How to Install an Extension
Newsletter extensions, since version 2.x, are regular WordPress plugins and can be installed directly from your blog plugin panel. If you have the old extensions installed in the wp-content/extensions/newsletter folder, you must remove them.
Installing an extension
- Depending on the WordPress version you’re using, you should simple enter the plugin panel, choose “Add New” and then “upload” on top of the page.
- Select the file of the wanted Newsletter extension as downloaded from the downloads page (you don’t need to unzip it) and let WordPress to install the plugin.
- Activate the plugin corresponding the the installed extension and you should have a new menu voice under the Newsletter main menu voice.
Note: the extension files are usually added to the wp-content/plugins folder of your WordPress installation under a folder named newsletter-[extension name].
Updating an extension
Extensions in plugin format check for new version directly on their repository and offer to update as done for other plugins. No manual download and upload is required, just use the WordPress update link.
The download process by the automated update will success only if your license key is set on main Newsletter configuration panel. The license key is available on downloads page. If the contract is expired the download will file with a “payment required” message.
Anyway the extension will continue to work even if the update fails. If you renew the contract a new license key is released and shown on downloads page and should be updated on main Newsletter configuration panel.
Removing an extension
An extension, being a normal WordPress plugin, can be deactivated an removed from the plugin panel itself using the actions provided by WordPress.
